Outreach Support 

The Outreach service provides 1:1 support for parents in the community. This can be in the form of practical or emotional support. Our Family Support Worker will find out what you would like support with and will work with you to agree a plan. This will support you and the Family Support Worker to work towards your needs and goals. The Family Support Worker may:

Who can use the Outreach Service?

Any parent of a child aged 0-8 years (or parent-to-be) who lives in the Musselburgh, Whitecraig and Wallyford areas can access the service. 

Who can make a referral?

Any professional, family member or service user can make a referral. We are happy to take self-referrals and the referral form can be found on this page.

First Step Community Project Membership

The Outreach Service is free and accessible to those who need it and meet the referral criteria. We do not ask recipients of the Outreach Service to pay a membership fee, however we would encourage them to do so should they wish to use other services at First Step. 

Confidentiality and the Outreach Service

First Step works under the duty of confidentiality and the work we undertake is based on trust and respect. There are times when we may need to break confidentiality when we have a Duty of Care to a vulnerable adult or child. For more information please see the policies below:
