Below are links to organisations that we work in partnership with and provide further information on supporting families with young children:

East Lothian Early Learning and Childcare Funding - First Step works in partnership with East Lothian council to provide Early Learning and Childcare places for 3 and 4 year olds.

Eligible 2 year olds funding - First Step is also able to offer funding for eligible 2 year old in partnership with East Lothian Council.

Speech and Language - A NHS online resource providing information for professionals and parents/families to support children’s speech, language and communication in the early years.

Dads Work - a community project working with fathers. It provides support groups , positive parenting classes , workshops on the role of fathers , home visits , trips and outings for fathers and their children. 

Home Start East Lothian - Support and Friendship for Families

Support from the Start - Part of Scottish Government's equally well initiative. Aims to improve existing and /or develop new service pathways for addressing health inequality in the early years.

Bridges Project - Bridges Project is a charity which provides a number of services to assist young people manage transitions into adulthood and life beyond school.

Community Learning and Development - Information on learning and development opportunities within your local community.

Changes East Lothian - a Community Health Project which promotes the positive wellbeing of people living in East Lothian.

Volunteer Centre East Lothian – Providing support, learning and development opportunities for individuals and organisations

Children 1st - We work with children and families to help them change their lives for the better.

NHS Lothian - NHS Lothian provides a comprehensive range of primary, community-based and acute hospital services for the second largest residential population in Scotland.

Parent Club - is a digital information resource, support hub and online community offering practical advice and support for parents and carers across Scotland. 

East Lothian Works – offers help and advice on jobs, training or skills development.

East Space - Eastspace is East Lothian’s online source of mental health and wellbeing information.

Crossreach counselling - Confidential counselling for people of all ages in East Lothian.

Pennypit Trust - The Pennypit promotes and provides sport, community nutrition, volunteering, youth work and community development.

Woman’s Aid East Lothian -  A confidential service that provides information, support and temporary accommodation to women and their children who have experienced domestic abuse.

Citizen’s Advice Bureau - Musselburgh and District Citizens Advice Bureau is a local, independent charity which provides free, impartial and confidential advice and information to give you the tools you need to sort out any issues or problems from Benefit advice to housing and consumer rights. 

Generations Working Together (East & Midlothian)- Networks designed to create opportunities for organisations, groups and individuals to be kept up to date with what is happening locally regarding intergenerational work.
